Tomáš Absolon informace komponuje do úsporné, modernisticky pojaté vizuální zkratky, která čas od času simuluje zásahy digitálního zpracovávání obrazu, jindy si zase rafinovaně pohrává s diváckým očekáváním, s jeho schopností číst určité symboly jako znaky konkrétního typu přesto, že jejich exaktnost není dostupná. Absolonovy obrazy jsou vícevrstevnaté, v nekonečných plochých prostorách pozadí se objevují malířsky jinak pojatá gesta či ostré, až “komiksové” línie, reminiscence jakési plakátové estetiky.
V nejnovějších obrazech rozvíjí Absolon svůj zájem o typografii. Různé varianty liter fontu, který sám designoval, rozvíjejí vizuální hru na pozadí obrazu jakýchsi síťových struktur, textilie, vláken – jeho přemýšlení, přesto, že se vyjadřuje ryze malířskými prostředky, přesahuje tradiční pojetí malby a zpracovává témata a vlivy z širšího kulturního a teoretického vědomí světa „sítě“.
